Our History

More than just numbers since 1936!

In 2011, Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC celebrated our 75th Anniversary! Since 1936 we have had many accomplishments, but our number one accomplishment has been the ability to continue working with great people. Our growth stems from having a dedicated team that is always willing to go above and beyond for our clients and each other.

This milestone gives us a chance to look back on what we have achieved, but more importantly it has us taking a look forward at what is possible. We want to be your "Trusted Advisor" and help you seek out opportunities for your own growth. We look forward to many more years together as you continue to succeed. "More Than Just Numbers" is not something we just say, it is who we are!

1936 - The CPA firm of Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC began in McPherson, Kansas when P. H. Willems opened an accounting practice located in the Grand Building on the northwest corner of Kansas and Main Street.

1960 - The firm moved to 901 N. Main Street.

1968 - The firm continued to grow and expanded their building.

1978 - B. Carver Swindoll was admitted as a partner.

1987 - Keith S. Janzen was admitted as a partner.

1990 - Kyle J. Hawk and D. Scot Loyd were admitted as partners.

1990 - The firm moved to its present location at 123 S. Main, after renovating the historic downtown building.

1993 - The name of the partnership was changed to Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, CPAs.

1996 - The partnership changed the entity to a limited liability corporation; therefore, changing the name to Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC.

2008 - Voted "Best Firms To Work For" by Accounting Today

2009 - Voted "Best Firms To Work For" by Accounting Today

2010 - Voted "Best Firms To Work For" by Accounting Today

2011 - Chet Buchman was admitted as a partner.

2012 - Opened a second office location in Hutchinson, Kansas by merging with BSE, LLC. Both firms began operating under the Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC name.

We continue to serve McPherson, Hutchinson and the surrounding areas as we have done for over seventy-five years.
