The CPA firm of Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC had its beginning in McPherson, Kansas in 1936 when P. H. Willems opened an accounting practice located in the Grand Building on the northwest corner of Kansas and Main Street. The firm moved to 901 N. Main in 1960 and expanded that building in 1968.
B. Carver Swindoll was admitted as a partner in September 1978. Keith S. Janzen was admitted as a partner in August 1987. In January 1990, Kyle J. Hawk and D. Scot Loyd were admitted as partners.
In December of 1990, the firm moved to its present location at 123 S. Main, after renovating the historic downtown building.
On December 1, 1993, the name of the partnership was changed to Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, CPAs. On January 1, 1996, the partnership changed the entity to a limited liability company therefore changing the name to Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC.
We continue to serve McPherson and the surrounding area as we have done for over sixty years.
Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC is the largest accounting firm in McPherson County. We are a Limited Liability Company (LLC) formed under the laws of the State of Kansas. Founded in 1936, we service clients in McPherson County and the surrounding counties. We have four members (owners), nine certified public accountants and nine other accountants and support staff.

Auditing
In our role as independent auditor, we conduct examinations of clients' financial statements to determine the propriety of underlying accounting measurements, the fairness of presentation and the adequacy of disclosure within the framework of generally accepted accounting principles. In certain circumstances, such as municipals and school districts, that have waived generally accepted accounting principles, we will comply with the requirements outlined in the Kansas Municipal Audit Guide. Where applicable, audits will be conducted within the guidelines of Governmental Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States and the provisions of Office of Management and Budget Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments and Non-Profit Organizations.
